SGKampung is a FREE app supported by the Our Singapore Fund administered by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY).
This App hopes to focus on the wellbeing of the community especially the elderly from our Pioneer Generation, example if they need help or someone to chat to, that can be done by the palms of these hands that help shaped our country into what it is now.By using this App we hope to allow more interactions between neighbours,increase bonding among races and connect people with need of simple services with people who can offer these services preferably within the same neighbourhood.Building a Smart Nation is a whole-of-nation effort which comprises three pillars: Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society.With this App we hope to build a Digital Society in a Digital Kampung.This is in line with The Smart Nation initiative, first announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in 2014, “Therefore our vision is for Singapore to be a Smart Nation – A nation where people live meaningful and fulfilled lives, enabled seamlessly by technology, offering exciting opportunities for all.
We should see it in our communities where technology will enable more people to connect to one another more easily and intensely”Some of the services where people can offer each other are and not limited to the following:• Care-for Elderly, infants and even pets• Social (Free)-sporting activities, meet ups,etc• Loan of items• Skill Services• Selling/Buying of Used items• Crowd funding for special events ,funerals, etc.
